Have you noticed lately the abundance of spiritual buzzwords that are being used to describe many offerings? Initially I got that “Oooh good! Here is someone who’s on the same page as me” feeling only to discover much to my dismay that for many  the words were the only ‘spiritual’ part of the product  or service.

As we evolve consciously, ushering a new paradigm more and more people join the tribe. They are willing to share their truths and experiences, the spiritual  or woo-woo taboo is being lifted.  People are actively seeking ways to expand and apply spiritual principles in a grounded practical way.

During a conversation with friend and colleague Lissa Boles a few weeks ago , as both consumers and providers in this ever growing field, we explored  what Lissa dubbed the Spiritual Super Mall. The good thing is that it’s no longer a one size fits all field. There are options for most everyone, and you can access many virtually leaving the travel to a desolate mountain top optional.

Yet there is an ever growing pool of, as Andrea J Lee puts it,  ’infocrap’ out there that really has  nothing to do with conscious evolution or new paradigm thinking. So what do you do? How to sift through the many options to find one that works for you?

As Lissa and I tossed our thoughts around we  came up with a couple of guiding points for spiritual pioneers. First and foremost tune in to your own inner wisdom. We all receive guidance, but we discount it in preference  for what someone else says is best, be it an expert, friend, or spouse. Gathering information is an important step but the decision must come from inside. Trusting in your own inner wisdom is a critical tool needed to navigate the  Spiritual Super Mall and the new paradigm in general.

The next point is to keep an open conversation flowing. We are conditioned to keeping these conversations in the spiritual ‘closet’ so much so   that we ignore the elephant in the middle of the room. An open honest respectful dialogue is imperative to adjusting course as we need to. Many of still feel  isolated and stuck in ‘lone ranger’ mode.  Reaching out, connecting, and communicating with the many other spiritual pioneers out there who are navigating the new way of being as well.

It’s also worth noting that  we are charting new territories here, be gentle on yourself as well as the teachers you choose, while staying true to your values and integrity. Old paradigm ways are falling away and we are replacing them with new ones…there are bound to be  a few hiccups in the mix.

It seems like and innocent little conjunction, three little letters can’t really have that much power…..or can they?

But is most often used as a way to exclude something or introduce doubt. It presents an either or situation.  Example: I want dessert but it’s too many calories .There is also the subconscious buts that exclude us from our dreams and goals. These buts are tied to your belief system, so they really are little gifts for  discovery and healing. Example: I want a successful business….but it will take too much time, …but I’m not really business minded etc.

By changing the language you use you shift the energy. Example: I want dessert and  I’m committed to honoring my body.  I want a successful business and I can define success on my terms.  Both the examples are more expansive and allow the room for possibility. Rather than close us down it opens up the flow for opportunity.

Let’s try this little experiment, be very aware of your wording and each time you use the word ‘but’ rephrase it to a more expansive form, just like the examples above.  When I did this a couple of weeks ago I was very surprised at the number of times I shut myself down and by the end of the week I had moved through a major energy block that had been resisting shifting.

Most people rush past the very first foundational step to reaching a goal, taking action on a dream, or initiating a change. We are so quick to skim over the energetic foundation in order to get on with the doing and move toward the end result. Often this is done in the interest of time, it’s quicker, or so it seems. In reality more often than not we end up side tracked, stuck, or with a less than hoped for result. By neglecting this step we are self sabotaging our success.

Taking the time to create the space intentionally for your desired outcome prepares the journey vibrationally.  You’re laying an energetic footprint for what you desire. In my work with clients and personally’ doing this one step increases success rates exponentially.

My favorite method is to use the energy from my chakras to create the energetic space. I visualize the qualities and colors from each chakra  forming a container for my goal. When I work with clients we do this together, it is a powerful process.

Interesting perspective, it really speaks to the whole idea of coming from the heart first. That’s where our connection is most potent. Our ‘why’ really provides us with the inspiration to fuel our dreams and really share our unique gifts in the world. What is your why? How are you expressing it….big, little, not at all?

A brand new year, a fresh shiny new slate to create what you desire. The air is pregnant with hope, bursting with belief in the magic of a new year. What is your desire? What will you create for your chapter of 2010?

Note the language I’ve used. I didn’t ask what you should create, or what you will endure, but what will you create. How will you express your Soul Purpose? Each one of us counts, we each have a piece of the puzzle to contribute. You matter. Sharing your light is important, now more than ever. As we evolve the collective consciousness by embracing and sharing our light with the world.

So my question is in this new year, new decade how will you experience this journey?  Are you willing to move past the fear, old belief systems and Become….. become more of who you really are?
